Dave and his Dad John Hughes started training the kids from Fitton Hill in rugby over 20 years ago. 

They, along with Phil Howarth, campaigned for 10 years to obtain the playing field and managed to get a 25 year lease in 2019. At that time they were offered the building which is now the clubhouse.

Dave is a Level 2 rugby coach and a very well known figure in the rugby community.
